Joshua E. Roller, MD
Bariatric & Aesthetic Specialist - Fayetteville
Dr. Roller moved to Northwest Arkansas in August 2007 after completing a Minimally Invasive Surgical Fellowship in Bariatric and Advanced Laparoscopic General Surgery at Duke University Medical Center, one of the premier bariatric surgery centers in the country. Dr. Roller has performed more than 6,000 bariatric procedures (weight loss surgeries), including the laparoscopic Roux-en-Y gastric bypass, lap gastric banding, the laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy, and the Laparoscopic Duodenal Switch with outstanding weight loss results. Dr. Roller was the 1st fellowship-trained bariatric surgeon and advanced laparoscopic surgeon in the State of Arkansas. Dr. Roller performs state-of-the-art minimally invasive surgical procedures, using the same techniques and methods to perform his procedures that you will find at major medical centers across the country. Dr. Roller is a national instructor and surgeons from across the country travel to NWA to observe Dr. Roller and his techniques.
As one of the nation’s leading Bariatric Surgeons, Dr. Roller has performed over 6,000 weight loss surgeries and has helped thousands of patients lose hundreds of thousands of pounds. One of the biggest concerns Bariatric surgery patients have is “loose skin”. Although loose skin is not life-threatening like Obesity, it can impact how our patients see themselves and their self-image. During his time as an advanced minimally invasive surgeon, many of his patients have undergone skin removal surgeries by plastic and cosmetic surgeons. Patients describe these procedures as very painful leaving large, unsightly scars and are much more difficult to recover from, especially compared to their Weight loss surgery. In addition, the costs for these “surgeries” were so high that many patients couldn’t afford to do them especially when the recovery from these “skin removal” procedures ranges from weeks to months.
Dr. Roller began to do research on minimally invasive techniques for loose, saggy and wrinkly skin after weight loss, having babies, or aging but desired to find technology that would provide his patients with minimally invasive options, not maximally invasive surgeries. After extensive research, Dr. Roller discovered Inmode, the makers of Bodytite/facetite. This market-leading body-contouring technology can be used on many areas of the body and can help improve skin laxity after weight loss or due to aging and is also great for removing those last stubborn areas of fat that just can’t be lost no matter how much weit one loses. Dr. Roller has since partnered with Inmode and completed his training in Bodytite/Facetite in Philadelphia. He furthered his training by working closely some of the Nation’s leading experts in Plastic Surgery and the Bodytite/Facetite procedures. Since starting these procedures for the patients in NWA, he has had some tremendous success in treating loose, saggy skin and stubborn areas of fat after weight loss and aging. Dr. Roller was the 1st in NWA to offer this amazing technology.
In addition to the minimally invasive skin tightening procedures that Dr. Roller offers, both he and Dr. Kristin Roller also have acquired and learned many non-invasive techniques for treating loose, saggy and wrinkly skin as well as treating the effects of aging on skin. As opposed to some Plastic/Cosmetic surgeons who generally want to operates, the team at Radiance is focused on helping patients achieve their goals thru the least invasive techniques possible. The Drs. Roller have seen more loose skin than anyone in NWA over the past 11 years after helping patients lose so much weight. Now they are not only able to offer their patients the latest in minimally-invasive and non-invasive skin tightening and rejuvenation techniques, but everyone in NWA.
